Another one finished!

First, I hope all the mothers out there had a wonderful Mothers Day. I was thrilled and surprised to receive flowers from my step-daughter yesterday. My sister and I took Mom to lunch yesterday and then spent today with Mom and DH's nieces and nephews (who recently lost their mother) at a cookout. It was a hard day since this is their first year without their mom, but they handled it pretty well.

My niece was here to visit during her spring break (she's 13) and asked me to make her a small quilt with her soccer team colors - I finished binding it this afternoon and will put it in the mail to her tomorrow. It was really simple - just 3.5" finished squares - so it went together quickly. I think she'll like the stars in the border. She wants her friends to sign the back of the quilt, and maybe the stars will be a good place for them to do that. I've posted pictures in my 2010 Quilts album on Webshots:

It's already in the box! But thanks for the reminder - if I don't write things down I do forget.

Terrific quilt! I envy your machine-quilting.

Thanks! What I liked about this one is that the spaces for quilting were pretty good-sized, so I didn't have to try to fit a design into a little bitty triangle. I don't generally mind doing that, but I was ready for a break from looking at little squares and triangles!

What a great idea, and I'm sure your neice will love it! I think the thought of signing it on the front with a white or silver pigma pen is a great idea! ME-Judy

Thanks, Judy! I did send along a pen for signing the back, but the more I think about it, I'm liking the white or silver on the front. I'll think I'll email her tonight to give her that option!
