Another question

I have been looking for something I thought was a pounce or pouncy. It was a soft container for marking chalk that y9ou could pounce over the top of a plastic quilting template and the chalk would come through the container and make your pattern in chalk on your fabric.

HELP! What are these called.

Mine has the name "Quilt Pounce" printed on the top. It has a hard plastic case with a hole were you put the chalk. The chalk is dispensed thru a terrylike powder puff that you wipe across the stencil. You really don't pounce it all.

No need to slink off anywhere. They are called quilt pounce and you can put several different types of chalk in them. Either a plain white that will wipe off, a blue one that you most definitely want to cut a lot of the white into so it doesn't stay forever or there is a product called miracle chalk that works in the pounce, but will steam off.... but do not mix it with the other powders or you will have a big big mess.

The most important thing to remember if you use this is to just gently wipe it across your stencil, not pounce or bang it as you might think from reading the name. You can also just just an old spice jar and put some cheese cloth over it or I've seen people buy the chalk and use one of those foam paint brushes to wipe it across the stencil.

Hope that helps clear up some of your confusion... and there simply is no question you can ask to make you worthy of slinking off... well... maybe if you took my last drop of coffee without asking

LOL - thanks! It would be a lot cheaper to use the sponge brush and some chalk refill. I'm going to need the blue and they don't seem to make it in the iron-off powder, so mixing it with some white sounds good. I promise not to mix the iron off and the regular.
