I finished the black and bright Irish Chain (20 different bright fabric blocks, 6" finished, set with black squares, on point) late on Saturday morning... went to sleep for a few hours, then delivered it to my manager on Saturday. She was delighted, and asked lots of very good questions for a non-quilter. I included a card, and described how to wash it, and she said that was very useful. I set it 4 blocks by 5, and did stitch in the ditch around all the bright patches, then used the open black squares to do swirlies in variegated red/blue/yellow/green YLI thread. I've always wanted to do that, so that was fun. I also wanted to do black-and-brights quilt for ages, so that was fun too. For the back, I used a Noah's ark panel that I bought recently from someone on the Quilter's Flea Market list, and so the quilt is reversible and colourful! Why is it, that no matter when a quilt needs to be done, and when I start it, I am always up late the night before it's due? I don't do my coursework or any other thing this way, but quilting...... *sigh* Anyway, please share my happy dance! If it wasn't for the help I received here, I'd still be stuck trying to figure out what size of squares to cut and then slice for the setting triangles and corner triangles. Thanks for all your help!
