Blood update -- Not OT

Just wanted to let you all know that all the blood came out of the baby quilt for grandson Ashton. I finally finished the binding and the label on Wednesday evening -- well, Midnight isn't really evening . . . I didn't want to wash it right after writing on the label, so I waited and washed it Thursday afternoon (left work early) before they arrived at the airport at 6:00. Nothing like finishing at the last minute!

I used a product called Zout and it worked perfectly. It is a clear gel and I dabbed it on each spot with a Q-tip, rubbing just a little bit. Most of them disappeared before I even put it into the wash. The larger ones were still a little visible, but came out in the wash. One of the blood spots was on the front, and I used the Zout, turned it over and realized that IT CAME THROUGH ONTO MY WRITING ON THE LABEL. I was really worried that the Zout would take out or smear the writing. But, turns out the "permanent" ink pen is really permanent and was not faded at all.

Thank you all for your suggestions.

Happy quilting. Gloworm in Dayton

Not yet -- our digital camera has gone missing. DDIL promised to take pictures when they get back to Colorado. Hopefully, I can show them then.

If you can't find Zout, I'd be happy to buy some for you and send it over.

ZOUT is the best. I used once ages ago on a spaghetti sauce stain that had been washed and dried once already. It was if the sauce had never been there. Debi
