Gosh Roberta, I hope you get loads of money for it. It's a beautiful quilt. The mixture of pieced and appliqué has worked so well. Makes me wish I was a registered charity. Beautiful piece of work. . In message , Roberta Zollner writes

The colors are beautiful and so is the quilt! I browsed through some of your other quilts and they are all beautiful.
That is just stunning!!! I've never liked brown, but I might change my mind on that now that I've seen your beautiful quilt. Wonderful job!!

That is gorgeous, Roberta. Wonderful job.

It is beautiful. How did you quilt it? It looks great and I need ideas.
Thanks Pat! Do you have a favorite charity? Roberta in D, willing to go with a consensus, although there's no shortage of charities!

Thank you! Last year's BOM really got me started on applique, it was a good incentive, and doing one per month isn't so intimidating. Roberta in D

Never liked brown myself, still not sure about it, but at least I'm not gritting my teeth with it any more! So just plunge in. Roberta in D

It's machine quilted all over (no regard to block designs, except for the applique bits) with a sort of paisley-teardrop. Variegated thread, I used up lots of odds and ends on this one. The quilting idea is from Quiltmaker Jan/Feb 07, #113. My local group is doing the 3-part sampler quilt that finishes in this issue as a group project for a raffle, and guess who volunteered to quilt it? So I wanted to practice. Roberta in D

Nice job, Roberta. Somehow it doesn't look so brown with all the nice accent colors mixed in. I really like it.
WOW, Roberta! That is a beautiful quilt!!
It's beautiful, Roberta! Great job! :)

Obviously it's your choice, Roberta. But, thanks for asking - my favourite charity is the NSPCC. Large, I know; but I have to turn off the TV for their appeals (even though I know the children are actors). I can't bear even to hear the stories. . In message , Roberta Zollner writes
How very interesting. I'd never have thought of doing an overall pattern on a quilt with such different sections. I've only ever done one overall pattern, mind you! So, it clearly does work. I must remember.
How did you join up your 'tear drops'? . In message , Roberta Zollner writes
Howdy!
Wowwowwow! Way to go, Roberta!
