Southern Comforters guild is holding their show this weekend. Is anyone else going? I'm not planning on staying all day, the kids couldn't hold up for that long. But I do plan on running through and attending one of the free sessions....but would love to say hello to anyone else that will be there on Saturday morning!

I'm not tired....nope, not at all....... read that as Southern Comfort a couple of times and wondered whether or not they were serving it at your show instead of the usual coffee and soda. For those of you that don't know what I'm talking about--there is a 'fine sipping whiskey' named Southern Comfort-use to advertise on TV before that type of ad was banned. Was thinking that must be some kind of show........

Who doesn't know what Sothern Comfort is LOL. Used to be my favourite drink for many years.

Even some of DD friends are drinking it so it must be coming back into vogue again. How trends go in cycles once again.

If they really were serving it, I don't think I would be running through real fast, as I could get both my little ones to sleep very nicely! :-)

That's the guild that I belong to. I'll be there on Sunday afternoon to wrap things up and help break down the show. Got to do daylight savings time updates on computers at work on Friday night. Ugh.

The Count and I will be there and hope to see you and Cappy. As BOM coordinator for my Kent County Guild, I appreciate the site and copied a few of the BOM's for our use. Thanks! (I'll wear my black sweatshirt jacket with (Cappy's??) black/white cat on the back. Nancycog in MD

Great Nancy! I was hoping you and the Count would appear! It looks like I am going to miss Cappy as she'll be there Sunday instead of Saturday. But I'll be there Saturday, probably late morning. Is that the black/white cat that is a tessellation? I think I could find that! I'll be the one with a double stroller, cute blonde girl in front and baby in the back. It's far too far away for me to consider clothing yet....all I know at this point is that I will be wearing some! (Collective sigh of relief from the entire population!)

Linda,

It's this weekend. I posted the link to the page on their website about the show. La Plata is about 45 min to an hour south of us, depending on traffic of course. Do you think you'd like to fly down and join her and us for the show? It'd be great to meet you both! Unless, of course, you just plan on sending your DD. Then we could just meet with her and learn the full scoop on you! :0)

I can't make it this weekend :-( I love the raffle quilt! I found 2 great quilt shops just driving around the area she lives - one in LaPlata and one in Waldorf.

I am going to try to make it down for another quilt show a bit south of LaPlata - I think it's in St. Mary's County.

When? I'm always running down to the 7th (St. Mary's) and have been to one quilt and needlework show down there at Sotterly Mansion that was fabulous!

Love to go again!

Yep, that's the one I went to last year and can't wait to go again! I'll put it on the calendar now and maybe we'll remember to contact each other to do a meet up!

Keep me in mind for Sotterly if you schedule anything! I love that location! I drive by a fun quilt shop on the way down there. It's on Rt. 4 in Prince Frederick. I don't remember what it is called, but she runs the quilt fabric side, he used to have sporting equipment and model trains. The quilt fabric keeps taking up more space and the sporting equipment is gone. He's now down to just model trains! grin

When my daughter went down for her interview in LaPlata, they put her up in a hotel on 301. As soon as she checked in, she called to tell me that there was a quilt shop right next door. It's quite a nice one too, with a huge selection and very friendly people - Material Girls. We also found a smaller one in Waldorf, not sure where, but we went once when they were having a huge sale and I got a lot of high quality fabric 10 yards for $20. I only bought 20 yards though because I was on a fabric diet at the time.
