This is a good group. My problem this time is candlewicking. I am looking for a design to work. It must be from the mid 1800's and authentic. References required.
I have permission to create a candlewick piece for the teaching collection at Black Creek Pioneer Village. I have the thread and the technique (I have done it before.) That's why my problem is so specific. I know just about any pattern from the era can be or could have been turned into candlewicking but my supervisor scored low in creativity and imagination in the true colours test. I have been doing reproductions from authenic pieces and historical sources for several years now,,, so why was this brought up at the meeting? ALso told not to use plastic beads... I covered a couple of plastic pony beads several years ago...I do a lot of beaded work. I wonder where they got the idea that I was using plastic seed beads??? LOL...
