Face Mask - a cry for help

Aug 20, 2003 3 Replies

I hope the universal knowledge of this group can help me. I have a dust mask from Craft Supplies UK, the type with the single cartridge. The fitting which attaches the strap to the mask has broken, estimated cost 5p. Does anyone know the maker or a source of such parts as Craft Supplies have failed to give any assistance. OK, I could buy a new one but if I can find the part I don't need to. Dave Lawson

I am not familiar with this particular mask - or with shopping in the UK. But a source of odd straps, clips, buckles and the like is a good camping goods store. These things are sold as repair parts for tents, backpacks and similar camping/hiking items.

Here in the US Pacific Northwest I would try REI but that chain can hardly be the only place that sells these.

Along these same lines, you might also try a sewing or fabric store. Most carry supplies like buckles, straps, snaps and the like as well as the tools for applying them, if necessary.

Thanks for that, I had a nagging feeling I'd seen something similar somewhere, I give it a try. Dave
