COCA COLA QUILT

I found a home for my Coca Cola Quilt - see pix # 1 in Webshots Snigs album. My old supervisor is celebrating 30 years with the Department of Human Services. All the workers are signing the white sections on the top. She loves red - white - blue so she will be very happy with this quilt.

It's gorgeous Snigs! So what does one have to do to get on your "extra quilt mailing list"? LOL I can't afford a disaster in my life, but man would I love to have some of your overflow!

Ms. Yvonne is a 30 year employee with the Department of Human Services (a long career at a thankless and underpaid job). She is a single mom of one of the finest young men in our community. She did it without childsupport (dead beat dad) from the time he was 2 years old. She has never remarried. Like you, she is a church going, God fearing and hard working lady. She grows a big garden and cans and freezes all of it. She says what she thinks, in a straight forward matter of fact way and lets her words fall where they will. She is a wonderful supervisor because she is honest and trustworthy. She isn't two faced and doesn't mince words. She doesn't sugar coat anything. I just loved having her as a supervisor - she had no patience with idiots and if you were lazy and whiny - just transfer out or quit - you weren't going to last long in Benton County with her as your supervisor. If you needed coddling then make an appointment with your therapist - she was there to see the job got done - not to handle personal issues. When I tried to delay my chemo treatment because we were short 4 workers - she got wind of it and came into my office - closed the door - and verbally tore me a brand new anal orifice. She told me that I was no good to the agency dead and that if I needed treatment that I was to get that treatment now and the work would take care of itself. She had honest compassion and empathy - not that phony from the teeth out kind. She held her workers nose to the grind stone and demanded a high standard of work. Our county had the fewest errors in the state for 7 years running thanks to Ms. Yvonne. The Feds gave Arkansas extra money for 4 years running due to our low error rate . She is a very quiet and not very social but a strong leader that practices what she preaches. She was the only supervisor that carried a caseload instead of farming the cases out to other already overworked caseworkers. She never asked anything of you that she didn't do herself. She's my hero - can you tell? As her employee I had to be careful about what I gave her as gifts because she would tell me she couldn't accept it. Now I'm retired - she can't tell me squat!! She loves quilts but isn't a quilter - so she will love this gift signed by all the office staff.
