Very nice. That is such a nice, quick but impressive looking pattern. I love it, and have a top made in it somewhere here...... (For anyone interested, one of the names for the nine-patch and snowball combination is "Cobblestones". )

Alicia, that turned out just gorgeous! I do love toile, practically in any color, and this simple layout lets the toile be the star of the show. :)

Great quilt Alicia - I couldn't for the life of me think of what toile was when you first brought this up. I was thinking some filmly type fabric and wondering why anyone would use that stuff in a quilt. Well duh, after seeing your beautiful quilt, it struck me exactly what it was. That is so pretty and I think the pattern was perfect for this fabric.

Sharon, you may have been thinking of voile - it's light and see-through sort of like organdy but not nearly as stiff. You can use it for a special kind of quilting where you lay it over extremely bright colors and embroidery stitch an outline and embellishments. It is called 'shadow appliqué' and probably other names. Polly

That's probably what hit my mind first when I heard the word. I guess being a quilter who just uses 100% cotton fabrics, the word just didn't register correctly. Oh well, onward and upward. It is a beautiful quilt for sure. Having said that, I don't think I've ever seen a quilt where voile was used either - I'd love to see one. Happy New Year.
