Thanks Pat. He was a science teacher before he retired so this focus fabric just called out to be bought when I saw it.

Thanks Di. I started it a while ago and then when he was ill I couldn't face working on it for some time. Now I have got it finished in time for him to enjoy & use.

The swirly heart was from a pack of continuous quilting designs by Mary Covey.

It was easy enough that I could do it in each block and it STILL resemble a heart! My FMQ is improving slowly but surely.

Thank you Lizzy for the reminder of Warm Wishes. Some striking stripes have just jumped in my stash and I wondered what Ever was I going to do with them. Yessss. Warm Wishes just might be the answer. I'll cut a trial block and put it on the design wall. Your quilt for your Dad is wonderful; wish I'd done that. Polly
Thank you everybody for the kind words. Another internet friend described it as a "manly quilt". I think it is the colours that give that effect.
