Quilt Pic--Thank you Musicmaker

A while back, I had admired a quilt that Musicmaker had posted a pic of, and inquired where she got the pattern. She was kind enough to just send me the whole magazine that the pattern was in.

I finally got the quilt finished, and here is a pic:

I had to write a "story" for each quilt entered. I wrote how someone I'd never met sent me the pattern just because I had admired *her* quilt. I forgot to fill in the line for the *name* of the quilt on the form. So I get there today, looked at the program to find my quilt, and found that the quilt show organizers had just filled in that blank line for me. They named it:

"Quilters Are Nice People."

I didn't have a problem with that. Thank you, musicmaker.

Beautiful quilt and great story! I'm now thinking I'd like to do something like that for a QOV. I used that setting for a Christmas quilt I made from some swap blocks (I don't have it quilted yet), and I think it makes a great looking quilt.

Nice job, Sherry.

Oh sure you could, Pat. It does take time, luck, practice, talent and ! I've learned with random that my camera is my friend. Lately when I'm arranging, I take a picture and study it. If there's a glaring "doesn't go there" it will stare right back at you. Sometimes, the picture says "no. Not yet". And then one like Sherry's will just sing. I can hear the music now. I think it's something by Sousa. Polly

Oh, Pat. You are just trying too hard -- if I can do it, anyone can. I got a gift certificate for my birthday and just went and picked out random FQ's without much thought about whether they "went" with each other, just whether I liked them! Random, I can do. But these beautifully coordinated quilts that I saw at the show -- forget it. I go in the shop and get so overwhelmed by indecision. I'm looking hard at some kits! Decisions already made for me! Thank you so much for the compliment. And Polly, I was thinking maybe it was singing Indian flutes, but I think your guess is closer--Sousa!

I love your camera idea. I can see that quilt so much better in the picture than I ever could in person. I'm going back to the show tomorrow and take pics of other peoples' quilts just for inspiration. This show just beat all I've ever seen. Every quilt there was just a beautiful piece of work.

Your quilt is gorgeous! The organizers are right. And Musicmaker is a wonderful contributor to the world of quilting. Win-win-win. Love it!

Kate, I'm thinking it was "Quiltmaker." I still have that mag for sure, I'll just have to look for it -- I had to put All Things Quilty away for the holiday weekend. I'll get back to you. Don't let me forget -- my email addy is sriddles at aol dot com. If you're interested, I'd be glad to send it on to you.
