OT- thank you

Last year and the first quarter of this year are not a time I ever want to repeat. Tragedy, loss, and a lot of pain and stress. It was not a fun time. The good news is, I don't have cancer. The bad news is, I had a large tear inside my hip that needed surgery to fix.

I got a ton of squishies and some nifty gifts, far too many for me to send out individual thank-you notes.

So I'm thanking you here. You all know who you are.

With major surgery to my hip two weeks behind me, I'm starting to be a little more comfortable -- I can walk without crutches and I can do quilty stuff if I have enough room. I actually got a quilt block sewn today. The squishies and thunkies and a glorious Yorkie block are carefully set aside for a memorial quilt to my beloved little Wellington. I might see if my vet would like to hang such a thing in her office, once I've got it designed and started.

As you can see, we're very girly-girl. What you can't see is what a little fireball she is. Interested in everything, everyone, and not the least bit shy. Absolutely delightful. Must get off the hip now. I can walk longer than I can sit, oddly enough. Sitting hurts after a short while.

(((((((gentle hugs)))))))). Glad to hear that you are doing better and that Rommi is doing her job. She is adorable and you can see that she has *that* look in her eyes. Oy vey, I know that look - the same one Maisy has when she pounces on my toes at 4am!

So glad to hear your doing better and I hope you make a complete recovery in record time. Rommi is certainly a cutie. I'd be afraid I'd break her, though she's probably more resiliant than she looks.;-) I have a wallhanging that needs a sleeve then will go live at my vet's office in memory of a few of my critters. I'm sure your vet will be happy to have something in memory of Wellington. Debi

Dear Black Rose, Thank you so much for the update! It's nice to know that you're feeling better - well enough to plan quilt blocks and projects even - and that you have a new companion to keep you happy and entertained. Be sure to pop in now and again and keep us informed. Best wishes,

Hi Rose, So glad you are coming along so nicely. When I had back problems, it was easier to move around than to sit still for too long. Your new pup is just adorable. She certainly looks like a femme fatale! I promised DH I would wait 1 year to get another dog. This is the first time I have been without a dog in the house since I was 8 (45 years). I am seriously looking at Yorkies for their personalities, sense of fun and size. Hugs to you, Linda in Tx

Where did you find her breeder? I would love to open a dialogue with them, to be on the lookout for a pup. You can send info off list if you want. frame242atyahoodotcom

If you're looking for a Yorkie, start with the national breed club breeder referrals:

From there you can search for breeders closer to where you live. I don't know of *any* responsible Yorkie breeders that will sell puppies younger than 3 months of age. If you find one that does, it's a red flag. Don't buy from that breeder.

If you're looking for a different breed (or you're not sure), start with the AKC breeder referral page at

-- from there you can search breeds by name or by group. Hope this helps.
