quilt top pic

Hey all, I finally have a couple of quilt pics to share. It's been a long time!

I've been working on a mystery quilt from

. The quilt was called Orange Crush. When you look at the pic you'll see why! I happen to love the color orange so I quite like it. It is rather bright. This is just the top without borders, and is actually still in 3 sections. Most people doing the mystery have already finished their quilt, I'm lagging behind. I'm happy just to be quilting again even if it takes a long time to finish something.

I'm planning on quilting this in 3 sections then sewing them together and adding and quilting borders. Julia in MN posted a link to her site that has a great "how to" on this

Thanks Julia! Anyway hope this link works, it's been a long time since I posted a link to webshots.

Good, good for you. The quilt is wonderful. One time I made an orange (and blue) quilt for a Florida fanatic who had to have the school's colors. She says she never needs to turn the lights on in the quilt's room. I think the orange + scrappy look is calling me now. Yes. I love the block(s) too. Great quilt, Marilyn. Polly

Thanks Polly. I've just plain enjoyed myself plugging away at this. No time pressures, nobody waiting for it to get finished. I also think doing it as a mystery was helpful to my quilting block as I really didn't have to think too much. Just follow the instructions 1 at a time. Now I will have to think about the borders as step by step instructions for them was not part of the mystery. Some of the finished quilts have some great pieced borders, and they have given me lots of ideas, but I'll have to think on it for a spell.

I think it's a good thing I didn't know about this mystery - just the name would have enticed me to try it, with orange being my new favorite color! Your version is outstanding - you'll come back and show us the finished project, won't you? I'm looking forward to seeing it with borders and quilting.

What a warm and cheerful quilt, Marilyn! I'm really partial to quilts with a scrappy flair to them, and I love the pattern.
