Did something crazy!

Okay, maybe not clinically insane, but for me a little bit crazy....are you ready?....I went and bought a small camper trailer. I am soooo very excited! Having two deaths (my DH and my DD) in the last five months has not been easy on my son and I. To say the last several years has been easy compared to the last five months is a statement in itself.... It is time for us to have some happiness and fun in our lives and I'm hoping to create that with this trailer and the good times ahead.

Now I MUST finish the few projects listed on the RQTC get it done list, so I can create a tabletopper and quilts for the beds, along with other accessories needed....and I believe it's going to start raining by Thursday....soooo I have NO EXCUSE to NOT SEW!!!!! lol

Wish us safety, luck, happiness and what have you for our camping adventures. Launie, in Oregon

That's great Laurie that you want to go camping. Who knows, we might run into each other - my DH and I are hoping to go to the US from Australia this Sept. We are thinking of hiring a small RV and driving west to east from LAX or SFO. There are some good re-location deals at that time of the year. I think we would first head thru Salt Lake City to Wyoming and Yellowstone and Tetson (sp?). Will keep you posted thru here when we get some plans locked in. And anyone else out there! (In the quilting fraternity!) Cheers Bronnie

FYI Bronnie, Sept in Yellowstone and Tetons could find you driving in snow.

What a great idea Launie. To have something completely out of your 'regular life style' is simply inspired. Can't see any craziness there at all! I hope you and your lad have some wonderful times - and create all sorts of amazing memories together. . In message , simpleseven writes

Have fun, Launie. Where are you going for your first outing?

Fantastic, good for you!! We've a campervan (RV?) and it is just so wonderful to just escape off in. Our DDs love it!

Launie, I was a single parent of two sons for 10 years. We had several camp trailers and RVs over those years. Some of my boys fondest memories (and mine!) are of camping out beside a lake nearly every weekend in the summers- fishing, cooking hotdogs and marshmallows over a fire and paddling around in a small inflatable raft.

Good for you and have a blast together in your camper!

That would be nice Bronnie....hopefully I won't be too busy with school at that time, but give shoot me an email and we'll chat later when you have definite plans. Launie, in Oregon

Thanks Pat! I will make sure to take lots of photos and stuff. Hopefully Hunter can look at his childhood and have fond memories mixed in there with those that we have no control. Launie, in Oregon

We bought the camper trailer from a family who found another the husband liked better-airstream or something....anyhow she asked me the same question when I picked it up....my reply..."who cares! lol Nah, I have a step-son who is graduating in the tri-cities in June and will probably look up camp grounds (with shower facilities) so we can do that versus staying in a hotel....but I highly doubt that's going to be our first trip....lol I'll let ya know! Janner, Hopefully this will be an excellent adventure! I've always wanted to have one and just decided to go for it....I may not be around tomorrow...hopefully I will have lots of tomorrows and good times down the road. Launie, in Oregon

Thanks Leslie, I am sooo happy to have something that inspires fun and fond memories...and to hear of others experiences with their kids is just wonderful. I don't even know if this has running water! lol I know it has a sink. I'll have to purchase a porta potty for those middle of the nights I gotta go's! lol This one is older, but in really good shape...it'll sleep three comfortably...although it'll probably squeeze four if we needed. I don't see that happening....my critters make up one! lol I am looking forward to many happy memories and adventures. Launie, in Oregon

That sounds like you and your Ds will create many happy times and memories in your new adventure. Good wishes to you . Keep us posted.

Well, Bronnie, will you be coming through LV???

Gosh Launie, That doesn't sound too crazy to me. It sounds like lots of fun for you guys. You are in a great area to have some great getaways without having to go too far. I am glad you are doing this for both of you! TAria

Not sure yet Sandy! That would be fun to meet up. Working on an itinerary - when I can drag myself away from the quilting Lol. Bronnie

Not crazy in the least! Crazy is doing the same thing over and over and hoping for a different outcome. Taking a leap and doing something new just for the joy of it, now that's what I call sane and smart.

Happy travels, Sunny

Hope you have LOTS of fun! Barbara in SC

Good for you! Happy (and safe) trails!
