Is there any way to check and see if I've entered my info into this year's directory. I haven't a clue as to whether I've filled it out. I think I opened the page and then thought "I'll do this later." But I don't know if I ever did. I'd hate to be the one who filled it out twice. KJ

Oh Kathyl, how I sympathise.

I was thinking of you today, as I was wondering whether I should tap the general wisdom of this group to see if anyone might know what appointment I made for Friday morning? (I have looked at all the pieces of paper on my desk - I think). Also, have I left my card with dentists' appointments under your cutting mat? . In message , Kathyl writes

Seems to me that you may be practicing for old-age absentmindedness or it is more likely insufficient memory. My goodness at the number of things we need to remember! (1) dental appointment cards belong on the front of the refrigerator. Always. No exceptions. If you buy a new refrigerator, you must either keep the door of the old one or transfer each and every card; whichever is most convenient. (2) and may I recommend the cutest program for when you truly can't remember little things like if you put the cat in your purse ? You can go to

and download a free program of sticky notes for your computer monitor. Even I was able to load it and understand how to use it. No fee, no hassle, no-brain. The first sticky I posted on it was one that says, "Why are you reading this?". Seems rather rude to me that passersby presume to read what's on my monitor. If I want someone to read a note I'll pass it to them during 5th period chemistry class. Polly

Thanks Polly! Do you really think I need to practise? Couldn't I just wing it when IT arrives? Won't be long now >gg<

Thanks for the chuckle! . In message , Polly Esther writes

I have another suggestion for a memory jogger. You can sign up for a free Google account & they have a calendar that you can post all your appointments in. You can ask for a reminder when your appointments come up. My husband & I have given each other access to our calendars & so when one of us posts to the calendar, the other can see it. We can also send an invitation to each other if we want to post a joint activity, but haven't discussed it with each other yet. Someone asked me one day if DH & I email each other in the house, but, sometimes he's not here or I'm not here & this saves me from having to remember! It's been great for us. And, bonus, now I have it on my i-phone, so I'm covered every which a way!

Of course, if someone's DH posts to the calendar that they have a dentist appt today at 8 & they post that they have a dentist appt next Monday at 8 & one of them is a mistake - you're just up a creek. When DH showed up at the dentist this morning, they asked him if he thought he had an appt today:) :)

Love, love the Google calendar!
