Directory???

Don't mean to sound impatient, but has the directory gone out yet or its it still being processed? I know Alice has been busy and the directory is alot of work. I've been watching my inbox, but haven't seen it yet. Just curious if I somehow deleted it with out noticing or if it is still coming.

Whew! I was just realizing I hadn't gotten mine either and worried I accidently deleted it or something (it's been a rough few weeks -- brain hasn't been all there if you get my drift)

Tricia (not impatient, just glad to know I didn't boo boo it)

In the words of others, the RCTQ Directory is:

"The RCTQ Directory is a list of names of people who are willing to share their snail mail addresses and birthdays (optional). Reasons could be for surprise squishies (never any required) or for swaps or for surprise pick me ups, etc. It's a way to surprise people without having to directly ask their address.

Only the people who contribute to the list will share the list. The expectation is that you won't share this directory with your friend or neighbor.

Only the people who contribute to the directory will receive a copy of the directory by private e-mail. You may be contacted by e-mail by others in the directory from time to time.

The directory birthdays are because some people like to squish on birthdays (an idea, that's all). "

It is ever so generously compiled by one of our group who collates all the information into a spreadsheet. It is compiled annually and the cut-off date for the next edition was a few weeks ago so you'll have to wait a year to contribute and receive a copy. This method has been used and refined over quite a few years and works remarkably well. Once you are accepted into the Directory, each year you have resubmit an application or your name does not stay on subsequent issues. The only reason a person would be refused an application is if he or she is not generally 'known' as a poster here.

If you have missed this edition, and want to send squishies, you can just post asking a potential recipient for their info which they may or may not divulge.

[Hope I got this right, Alice?]

What a relief! I've been gone for a few weeks and thought I had lost it in the mountain of email waiting for me when I got out of the hospital.

Looking forward to getting it. (No pressure, Alice, of course.)

I'm here! I'm here! Just back from several business trips. I have been working feverishly on the Directory and will post on the newsgroup when it goes out. Just a few more days!
