Jacqueline, in defense of those folks that are looking for an email, please let me say that I am the one that has changed the way the Directory has been done for many years. In previous years, LN would send a test email very quickly after receiving the information. So, when folks received their test email, they were assured that their Directory information had been received. In the last few revisions, we have used the entry form on my website which provides a confirmation page that contains the information that the person entered, but LN still tested the submitted emails shortly after receiving the information. Since you are involved in website design, you know that the form can be emailed to someone when the "submit" button is clicked, and LN was the one on the other end of the line. For this revision, I am getting the form notification and doing the email testing, but choose to do it after the form is closed.
Some folks don't read the postings every day, and then they don't read all of them so some of them may not have read my previous postings about the purpose of the email test. In the long run, I would rather have folks ask questions before the form closes than to wait until I am in the Directory formatting phase. I changed the parameters of the Directory submission this time, so I am accountable for the confusion it caused.
I have already started to formulate some changes to the confirmation page for next revision as well as including a FAQ page which I think will help.
