Don't you just hate it when...

... you fumble and a full bobbin takes on a life of it's own?

It ran right across my wooden living room floor, too!

It's one of Murphy's Laws. An empty bobbin will never fall. Polly

Oh! and when you have cats? You have to race the cat to see who gets the bobbin first. If you lose you will probably have to use a weed whacker to get through wherever the cat carries it off to.

Apparently, all you need is a cat, and the bobbin would never reach the cabinet :-)

I have two indoor cats who just love my bobbins, so much so that I have to put them inside a ziplock bag to save them. The bag has many, many holes.

Dogs (my HairyButt Gang) get right to business and *crunch* bobbins rather than play with them. I have my bobbins in the hard plastic cases specifically made for bobbins..... 7 or 8 of the cases. And the bobbins are all sorted by type of thread and color. Of course.

WalMart's sewing area has a clear plastic bobbin box, about 8" X 5", that has 3 rows plastic spindles , total of about 18 and each holds 4 or 5 bobbins. Each spindle holds the same color thread, I have about 50 bobbins and maybe half of them are empty. It is an easy way to keep the bobbins together, and a quick glance lets you know the color you have. Wouldn't you know the bobbin box is in SC with the Pfaff that takes a different bobbin than the Pfaff in FL! I need to go get one for Florida, and get extra bobbins. Barbara in FL

Please believe me when I say the ONLY things in my life that are organized are my threads and bobbins. I pull open the drawer and look at them and feel a small sense of power that I have something is is almost perfect. The rest of my life in rather "interesting" right now. LOL

"Leslie & The Furbabies in MO." I use a fine point Sharpie and write on the side of the bobbin- C for cotton, BL for Bottom Line, CC for Coats and Clark, R for rayon, and- of course!- 12 for 12 weight! ;-) The Sharpie rubs off if needed but I have a lot of spare bobbins (I buy them 50 at a time), so I grab an empty C bobbin when I am going to wind one with cotton thread. It really saves a lot of bother in the long run.... and eliminates guessing games.

I like the idea of a "wish" over a "resolution"!

That's a good idea! I might start trying that with my bobbins.
