EQ5 books

I have all the EQ5 books. Is there any particular recommended order for reading?

Of course, I'll start with "Getting Started" that came in the box with the CD. And I'll probably bounce around a little. I think I've got just 4 weeks to make the most of it timewise. I might be able to breeze through some since I've been experimenting on-the-fly and doing some JIT reading.

I think I'd start with EQ5 Simplified; the lessons in there are excellent -- though all of the books really are awfully good. After that one, perhaps the Drawing and the Quilt Design books could be worked on more or less at the same time? Keep the Cookbook handy for reference, too.

I skimmed thru the extra books to see what sort of things could be done. Then I dreamed up out a project to design and then followed the details closely in the various books until I could get the program to do what I wanted it do. (I guess because I learn better by doing rather than just reading). Have fun! Allison

Thank you!! I had paged through each one probably a year ago. The Block Book will be good for coffee on the porch!

Yes, I've been playing around for months. Made about 10 projects just messing around and clicking on things since January.

I was afraid maybe I was missing some of the little things by not going through the books in a more organized manner. Sure enough, there's a nice tip hidden in the first book. Holding down Ctrl or Alt will fill all the blocks or alternate the blocks. All sides of a border can also be filled with one click instead of four clicks. I don't think I would have figured that out on my own.

Yes, I'm having fun!!
