Good news, bad news

The good news: I'm getting my wrist fixed

More good news: The orthopod will go ahead and do the DeQueverain's release for my thumb, since recovery and rehab is the same for both the wrist repair and the tendonitis.

The bad news: I can't start any big new projects, and I have nothing on needles right now except a sock that will probably be abandonded in place because I can't make it match the first sock WRT gauge. I'll make a couple of caps just to keep busy, and I'll do some spinning this week.

The silver lining: My reading list - both in the form of the pile of books by my bedside and the list I've been keeping in my head - will experience gross reduction. And of course I can scheme for when I'm able to take up needles again :D

Patience, patience. I'm looking forward to having a largely pain-free wrist. I'm not looking forward to the cast, or the rehab, or the forced inactivity.

+++++++++++++

Reply to the list as I do not publish an email address to USENET. This practice has cut my spam by more than 95%. Of course, I did have to abandon a perfectly good email account...

Wooly, When will you have your surgery? I wish you an easy time of it and a quick recovery. Will you be able to come online? What books do you have on your TBR (To Be Read) list?

I am so glad to hear that you are able to get both surgeries done at once. Please take your time and remember that maybe it's a while before you can get back to doing stuff it will be worth it.

I am telling you from experience as I am now finally getting back to normal after my dequeverain's release surgery in November.

Remember if you need someone to talk to you can always e-mail me offlist.

Good luck and remember it's really worth it.

hi Wooly,

Hope all goes well for you and the surgery, I'm sure the crafts will be there waiting after you've recovered, in the meantime, enjoy the reading, so often I have a book to read but knitting or spinning or something gets in the way.

Again all the best with the surgery, we shall all be thinking of you.
