Good news, Bad news

It always seems like this is the story, good news, bad news. I was offered a position and have accepted their offer. I have been looking for work off and on for awhile. We need to firm up our retirement plans in 6 years. The only problem is my quilting will be taking a nose dive. Since I watch TV by my computer, I will still be lurking, but....

WAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I won't be so active. I know, life is what gets in the way of plans. I will keep posting when I can and when I can't bare not to put in my 2 cents worth.

Sew happy,

Ah well, you should be able to put aside a rainy day stash fund. Congrats on the job! The fabric and the ideas won't go away. Find a little project, no deadline, to work on whenever you have 10 minutes, and you'll be amazed at what gets accomplished. As long as you don't stress over not finishing quickly, it's a relaxing way to maintain sanity. Roberta in D

Congratulations! And just think, once retirement arrives you can watch TV and quilt and surf through computer quilt sites all day. In between long walks and good drinks (cold or hot as the season dictates) and all the other good things in life.

Congrats on the new job!! Your quilting will always be there later. I do agree with whom ever it was that said set up a project that you could do in

5-10 min. pieces. Since I've moved and now have an area where my things can stay up, I am surprised at all I manage to get done with only 5-10 min sessions.

Congratulations on your new job! Yay!

As a sister "working girl", I feel your pain about sewing time. Last year, I began taking a week vacation every October, just for myself. I can plan my Christmas projects, work on stuff to my hearts content, and not have to cram cleaning, laundry, gardening, sewing and household duties all into my weekend. Sometimes, the cleaning just has to be put off - lol.

Best wishes - please keep us posted.

Congrats on the job, Jan! And don't worry, we'll all be here when you have time to post and/or quilt.

Good to hear about your job! When I am in FL for the winter, I live in a camping resort owned by Encore. By any chance is this the company you will be working for? Barbara in Central FL

Planning for retirement is vary important. I it is worth making a few sacrifices now to make the future better. I'm so glad DH and I did, so that he could retire a bit early (history of heart problems leading to death at a young age). I don't think either of us have regrets for the things we gave up several years ago.....

The company is called Blue Green Resorts. It has several subsidiaries - don't know too much about them yet.
