Favorite Applique Patterns

What are some of your favorite applique patterns and subjects? I really love Bee Creative Studios patterns. The designer's name is Nancy Davis Murty. I would love to see more fun and whimsical patterns out there. What kind of themes inspire you?

I love the Pa Dutch themes - they remind me of my Great Gran.

Since I don't do appliqué (I don't count sewing the label to the back of quilts -- LOL), I will have to say my favourites are the ones Polly has done for the {{{HUG Quilts}}} I have made AND received :-). She has done some truly lovely floral motifs. CiaoMeow >^;;^<

Awww gee, now Mary. It's one thing to applique a flower on a 6½" Hug block and quite another to do a 17,000 piece Baltimore Album. But I do sincerely thank you. Whatever success I have, I owe to our sweet Leslie with the Furbabies who sent me some spools of silk thread. Silk thread glides and hides; it's lovely. Polly

OY, THE PAIN -- just thinking of a Baltimore Album block give me the heebie jeebies -- LOLOL! There's one lady in my needlework group who does that sort of thing and I tell her she is just plain crazy!!!! But they are lovely aren't they? A true pleasure to behold and it's like caring for newborns -- you wouldn't catch me doing it in a million years unless forced to at gun point but I do applaud those who do it and actually *enjoy* it!! LOLOL -- I'd probably piece the 17,000 pieces in a Baltimore Album quilt than willingly care for a newborn for more than

-- OH -- maybe 30 or 40 seconds :-). CiaoMeow >^;;^<

I love anything "organic" -- plants, animals, people. I *don't* like to work on things with sharp straight edges and rectangles.

Although I really like the piecemakers.com designs, I just don't like sewing so many buildings. I still plan to do the 2000 "train" quilt eventually, though. It has just too many nifty details in it to pass up.

I have become enamoured of The Bonnet Girls but haven't yet made any.
