Were you mobbed by the paparazzi trying to get a photo of the famous author?

Howdy!

Those books fortunate enough to be published by Martingale (That Patchwork Place) are usually offered on their website w/ a few "gallery" pics.

a look at what's inside the books. Btw, what's w/ Connecting Threads? They're only offering their own line of fabrics now; these are in the Thimbleberries genre, nice, good quality, but a very limited variety, and not esp. inspiring. Still, a good company w/ which to do online biz.

Thanks Judy; but, I'm really sorry, the Translucency one is the one I left out of the book. Mostly copyright reasons (OK for me to make for myself, but not 'commercially' I thought, because of the book I got it from), but also because it is so difficult to get right that I thought people wouldn't enjoy making it. It was the one that caused me most trouble! . In message , ME-Judy writes

Thanks ever so much Estelle. You're very kind. The show that is on this weekend is one the 'Fairs' that Grosvenor tour round the country with. There is usually one in Exeter I think? The thing is they have never had one in the west of England before. The Fairs are different from the other shows, in that there is no competition. The show comprises groups of quilts from the same makers. I always find it most interesting to see styles of a quiltmaker all together like that. There's a lovely atmosphere, because there is no judging element. Also, I find, that, as they are professionals on the whole, it's more fun discussing them - even if you want to say you don't like something. It was very well attended yesterday. If that goes on today and tomorrow, perhaps they will keep it in their itinerary. Hope they do.

Would you like to have your book from me? If so, could you just send me a cheque for £14? That is a little bit off the cover price and includes postage. I hope that's OK for you. I'm sending order forms to some folk, but that's mostly to get people's addresses. I have your address, if you haven't moved from Kilkhampton?

I'll then send it off straight away. OK?

All good wishes,

That sounds like a very good reason to me! If it caused you trouble, don't think I'd even try it! I did like all your other designs, too!

Piggybacking again. I almost don't have the right words to express how excited, proud and relieved I am to hear your book has been delivered Pat! It's been such a struggle to get it out, but I'm so glad I could share your frustrations along the way in order to share the excitement now! I agree with Leslie, it's a thrill for all of us to know someone who has perservered to the frution of a dream. I can't wait to see it in person. Let us know where we can latch on to one.

Oh what a thrill that must be. To see your own book on a bookstand! Gosh, it would be hard to not say anything, but perhaps the smile on your face was a dead give-away! Congrats!
