What a relief! Clever ploy on their part though, to make you wait so long that even the bloopers seem prerferable to more waiting. I shall be haunting Amazon. Well done Pat! (And those designs get more interesting every time I see them!) Roberta in D

Howdy!
Patti-Pat, have you told us the name of this book? Pleeeease!?? Then we can be on the look-out for it. And tell people "we knew her when" and all that. ;-)
Congratulations, on the book & surviving the process.
Bon appetit.. er... Happy Trails..Sales.. uh... Good luck & Much Success!

Thanks so much Sandy. That's so funny - I hadn't even mentioned the name >gg< Blame it on stress! It's called 'Geometrical Quilts' and my full name is Pat Storey. It is published by Tarquin Publications.
(I *really* like my new name!) . In message , Sandy Ellison writes
Thanks Allison The name of the book is Geometrical Quilts. Fancy my not mentioning it! It will take a few weeks to get the North American agent to get it all fixed up, I'm afraid. But, hopefully, you'll find it soon (thank you for wanting it!). If not, just let me know. The chap this end certainly needs galvanising into action - often! Oh: my name is Pat Storey, in case you need to look it up. . In message , allisonh writes

I looked on Amazon and its available for preorder in the UK, and in the US its 'currently unavailable' but still listed. Still no picture there though.
That reminds me Pat - will it have the 'look inside' facility on Amazon?
We will have to give it lots of stars!!

Whoopee Pat. I am so pleased for you. You have been very patient, more than I could possibly be. I wish I was going to Malvern, I didnt actually know that it was on in the autumn. I look forward to buying a signed copy in the near future!
Congratulations, what a great accomplishment! And here is a link to it at Tarquin
I didn't know about that, Mickie!! Thank you very much. All the quilts are on the cover - I had to persuade them (the designers!!). The woman couldn't think how to arrange them so that the
14 would be there, but she could manage 16, so the two corner ones are duplicated. By that stage, I was too punch-drunk to suggest that she could increase the space between them? I let it be! And - it is landscape format rather than as it is shown. I asked for that, too! . In message , Mickie Swall writesGosh, Sally, I have no idea about the 'look inside'. I thought that was up to Amazon, but I can see why it wouldn't be. If I have to give permission or something, I certainly will. Thanks for asking. I'll check with Andrew. . The Publisher has to take the initiative to set it up with Amazon.
I've just had a look how 'look inside' is done, and there are full instructions. And its free!
If you go to any quilting book on Amazon UK that hasn't got 'look inside' (I just went to the first one Amazon had put in their recommended section), and then click on the bit under the photo that says 'Publisher learn how to look inside, it takes you to an info page, and there is a further page of faq for publishers which looks pretty comprehensive.
Personally if I am just browsing and see a book that looks interesting, the ability to 'take it off the shelf and peep inside' is quite important - that is what you would do in a real bookshop and can be the 'Yes' factor in the temptation stakes! It was the decider in my recent spending spree with my birthday tokens.
The facility doesn't seem to have been taken up by many publishers, so would really give you a headstart. Perhaps your publishers would see the opportunity to push their other books that way too, if they haven't noticed the option - increased sales might be attractive to them and stimulate some action on their part!

What a great write-up! Oh, Pat, this is so thrilling for us too! You did it!
I agree, just bought a book from Amazon because I could see more than the cover. But surely it's a fair amount of work for the publisher? Putting pages in a certain format perhaps? Roberta in D

Oh Congrats Patti!!! So excited for you!!!
I'll get onto him straight away with that info. Sally. Thanks so much. It sounds a very good idea for them as well as, indirectly, me. You never know - if they were swamped with orders, the 'system' might crash (and I'm not talking computer systems here >ggThe Publisher has to take the initiative to set it up with Amazon.
