Hya everyone... my name is shelley and i live in queensland aus... i have just finished my second attempt at quiltmaking.. It is a kids quilting project of a cat block..now just to make some more for a lap quilt... The first project was a snowball quilt made from curtain fabric sample books and i gave that to my grand daughter for her 5th birthday.. the pictures are on my webshots site if you would like to have a look :-) I first got interested in quilting when i joined the local sewing group and decided to give it a try, but now i am hooked... :-)

Welcome Shelley. We have at least one other friend on here from Queensland, so you won't feel lonely! What a fascinating website. I loved the pictures of your pets. Thanks for sharing. The quilt for Krystal is just right for her - very girly and pretty colours. The cat blocks will look lovely together. I do hope you don't mind if I make one point to you about that: perhaps you could mark the positions of the button eyes, rather than sewing them on, before you have done your quilting. They could really get in the way of the quilting, and you might have broken needles if they hit a button - and they would be a nuisance to have to keep avoiding. I am speaking from experience here >ggHya everyone... my name is shelley and i live in queensland aus... i have

How nice!! I love your kitty cat! on a queen size bed... you'll need lots of furry little friends! You might want to consider reversing one here and there to add interest. But either way -- I'm sure it will be lovely!

Wow, that's very impressive! I loved it. YOu should have seen my first attempt. It ended up in the doghouse. I'm surprised the dog didn't drag it back out. It was bad :-)

Welcome, Michelle!

Love your kitties -- both the block and the live critters!

I also like how you used stripes and plaids in your blocks. Makes things interesting. . . .

Welcome from another Queenslander (Gold Coast)! this is a great quilting online group (who do get to meet up ocassionally). You can share successes and quilty things, give and receive advice and support and lots more in between. You already have passed the QI (quilt inspector - 4 pawed variety) acid test, now just tell us your chocolate preferences . cheers Bronnie

Ssshhhhhhh!! There are "foreigners" in this group that will commit pretty serious offences in exchange for CRs. It is one of Australia's secret weapons to bring the world to its knees lol (ditto Tim Tam biscuits)

Hi, Shelley, and welcome! I hope you hang around the virtual quilt frame and enjoy it. BTW, I like the quilt and the block. I think I did something similar once, made a quilt for my son with different colors for each cat and different backgrounds. Each cat was one we knew and loved. He really treasures the quilt! I know whoever gets your cat quilt will love it, too.
