I have been searching for years for a flannel that would not pill, fuzz, warp or ravel unreasonably. I have paid as much as $18 per yard in the quest. Eighteen dollars per yard is way beyond budget for making shelter quilts but I was as serious as could be. Today I tossed a length of flannel in the wash/dryer to get the grubby marks from the bolt fold. Ta-dah, Eureka and assorted other happy discovery words. There truly, finally is a flannel whose price doesn't exceed sensibility. The selvedge says it's a Northcott. Not affiliated, your mileage may vary - but it is time for some of you to be backing with warm stuff and I thought I'd share my happy with you. Silly me. Why didn't I try them first? So soon old, so late smart. Polly
