I wouldn't give it up either Alice. I *knew* the beg was a long shot. :-)

OK, Polly, you always make me laugh! I wish you would come and have lunch with me! We could go fabric shopping. One of the Amish stores near me is having a "truck sale" the week after Christmas. Sometimes I buy whole bolts....prices start at $l.99 yard!

I really prefer not to quilt over the sashing, and I also have learned the "sneak" method. I think I'll start with the "veins" and then see how much more quilting is needed. BUT, my sewing room is our guest room, and we're having company this weekend....so I may not get started right away!

Thanks, Polly, for making me smile! You can come over and have lunch anytime. Come right after Christmas and we can hit the fabric stores.....big sales going on!

I usually don't quilt the sashings, and have also learned the "sneak" method. I think what I'll do is start with the "veins in each leaf, and then decide how much more quilting is required. BUT, my sewing room is also our guest room, so I may not get to it until after the holidays. But I do appreaciate your encouragement. Thanks.

I posted almost this same answer hours ago, but it hasn't shown up. I'm sure as soon as I send this reply, they'll both show up!

Alice: The runner looks terrific. I too was concerned about the stippling resulting in a stiff quilt. You could use the same style of stippling but not so dense. Try for spacing the stipple equal to the spacing you have in the leaf veins. HTH. Pat in VA?USA
