I've noticed that 'since Katrina' the emergency transportation for evacuation as well as some shelters will allow pets. Heaven help us. The insurance clerk at my doctor's office has a flock of very special chickens. Now that's going to be a sight. Polly

Wendy I'm so glad that you, your family and all the critters are okay. What a scary thing to go through!! Hope you have some warm weather so you can air out your house and get back to normal.

Unfortunately, it's chilly and rainy, but at least there is not much lingering smell. The rainstorm last night brought thunder, and I kept wondering if it was thunder, or more explosions. I knew the fire was out, but I guess I'm a bit gun-shy right now. The dog still won't leave my side. I can usually get more than 10 feet away from him before he comes to find me, but now it's 4 feet, and I must be in sight at all times! He guarded the bathroom door last night while I had a bubblebath, just in case... In case of what, I'm not sure, but he wasn't going to let "it" happen!

Please be patient with your poor dog. The furries must all have been terrified. Hopefully he will be happy to grant you your normal 10' of space soon.

LOL W/ the track record the little idiot has for getting anything done, for getting any practical working plan to actually... well, *work*-- what a waste of ink. Perhaps an act to save the ink pens in the white house would be more practical.

I knew the insults would fly over this but I thought the comment would be about the day that Bush dropped (sort of looked like he tossed) his pooch at the White House.

Hope everyone with a strong political opinion is going out to vote in a few weeks. That is where your opinion might make a difference. Not many good choices here this go round but like usual there is a ton of spend money BS on the ballot.
