Great Deal on Solids

In one of those "whack upside the head" moments, I realized that I hadn't been to the Sr. Center Thrift Store in several months. The little thrift store has one wall devoted to yarn and fabric. I've found a few good pieces there, including a silk piece an a lovely cotton ikat.

Anyway, sure enough, my memory was good and there on the bottom shelf were all the solids. I left there with 8 yards of solid black (really good, sturdy and well woven stuff) for $6. On top of that, I snagged a couple yards good bright red, some yellow and a very nice green. All good cotton with good texture. I'm doing the pre-wash/dry t oday so I've got fabric to "play" with tomorrow.

I need to get the name of this store! We drove round the outskirts of Wenatchee a few weeks back and I thought of you! I don't expect we'll be in that area for a while, but these things are worth knowing.

Good deal! I love getting those thrift store finds - over the years I have found some incredible fabric for good prices.

Enjoy playing.

Good for you, Sunny. We enjoy the thrift stores within an hour's drive but they don't ever have fabric. I suspect there's a gaggle of quilters that watch for fabric to come in and stash it before it even gets placed on a shelf. Polly
