Half way happy dance

Looks great! I recognize Carol Doak's Celebration block there and I can't believe you've made so many of them. It took me a long while to make the ONE I made, although I really like it. I haven't decided what to do with mine. It's red/white/blue patriotic, but I don't have any other blocks it matches. It may have to turn into a very small wallhanging, a pillow, or a tote-bag!

It is gorgeous can't wait to see it finished.

I'm in the same position, Carole! Except that my block is only 6" finished, since I shrank the pattern (on purpose, so quit laughing!). Maybe I'll just hang onto it and make other blocks to go with it as she posts them -- or from her book. :)

Still hoping for a class with Carol D. in Houston,

Patti, you should give the new group a try. There are lots of newbies to PPing there, and they're getting good results. :)

I thought about that, but that will mean a shopping expedition, since I have very little fabric that would go well with the block I made. Sigh.....could I really go shopping for MORE fabric?!?! :) I live about 30 minutes from the nearest quilt shop and with gas prices like they are, I have to think long and hard about trips like that. Thanks. I held out for about a year but decided to give it a go. And I love it.

The first one took a long time but I got into a rhythm and kind of assembly line production and they went fast.

Thanks, Vikki. Wish I could afford to have it quilted.

Beautiful, Mary! I really like the dark background - the stars just seem to glow!

Thanks, Louise. A friend was going shopping at a fabric store in rural Ohio that we know has good sales. She asked if I wanted anything. I told her black to set off some brights. She sent me 8 yards. :-)

I'm thinking more in terms of each block representing a month/season. That way I don't have to coordinate the fabrics among the blocks. :) Just an idea -- and I'm not writing it in stone for myself, either. LOL!

That would be fun, but....

Thanks.

With all the positive feed-back, I know I will continue with paper piecing.
