Better late than never - June BOM

I've finally managed to finish my June Blocks of the Month (pieced and paper-pieced.) I was NOT happy with the pieced one. That many triangles drives me crazy!

I hope I'll be able to stretch and tug that pieced block to fit with the others when I finally make the cat-fabric quilt! Carole in Northwest GA - Retired and loving it! Homepage -

Thank you, Dannielle! I'm doing a lot better now on the paper-pieced ones since I ordered Carol Doak's new DVD on paper-piecing and watched it a couple of times, and I'm also using her paper, which tears away SO MUCH EASIER than what I was using!

I love Carol's paper too! I haven't gotten ahold of the new DVD yet, but I did my first paper piecing with computer paper and after I finished that I used some of Carol's paper! Much easier to deal with and not nearly as thick in the seams!

Ah yes, another tried and true trick. Make the HST's a bit larger and trim down. It's always easier to take away than add to when cutting fabric! :-) (Learned that the hard way!)

Hi there,

I love that you're using cat fabrics. The blocks look great!

I'm still a newbie to quilting. I've pieced many many blocks using rotary cutting. I've started paper piecing and finding it quite fun. I also belong to the Carol Doak group on yahoo. So far, I finished a small heart quilt top using one of her beginner books and paper.

How big are your paper pieced blocks?

You've inspired me to use some of my cat fabrics in my blocks. Thank you SandyFromNJ

My paper pieced blocks are 12 1/2" unfinished, just like my pieced ones, because I hope to put them all together in one quilt when I'm through. It will definitely be a cat-themed quilt! I've got SO MUCH cat fabric that I really HAVE to make my blocks with some of it.
