Since the August BOMs were sent out early, and I'm having company next week, I decided to go ahead and do my pieced and paper-pieced blocks early, continuing my cat fabric theme.

Those are lovely!
Isn't it convenient that posting them early worked out for you to make them early!
Thanks! The early posting worked out super-well for me, because I have a lot of things on my calendar for August. Now they're done and I don't have to worry about getting behind. \
Again wonderful blocks. This will be a stunning quilt ! Heidi from Germany

Thank you, Heidi! I hope it will look all right even with all the different colors from the different cat fabrics. My plan is to put them together into a quilt to give to my mother. Carole in Northwest GA - Retired and loving it! Homepage -
Carole: I love-love-love your background fabric - it looks almost opalescent. you do really good work - they all look lovely. Are you making them into one quilt or 2?

Very nice, Carole -- I really like the pieced one! :)
Thanks! I love that background fabric, too. I'm not sure all my blocks have ended up exactly 12 1/2 inches square, but they're pretty close and I will MAKE THEM WORK! :) It will be one quilt for a full-sized bed, at least it will if my little graph paper layout works out the way I want it to! I'm doing two blocks a month and I've already made one extra, so it will have 25 blocks in it, plus a few half blocks at the tops and bottoms of some rows, since I'm planning to stagger the blocks. We'll see how it all works out!

That's 'cause that piece of cat fabric with the dark blue background came from RCTQ's own TerriLee, who kindly gave up a little bit of her stash of cat fabric when she read that I was making this quilt out of cat fabrics!

These are beautiful!

It is so fun to see your blocks each month! I too am a cat lover.
The paper-pieced one caught my eye -- is that a purple kitty I see? Or is it just the way the color is showing on my PC? I once had a cat I called Purple Kitty. If it really is purple, I'd love to know the fabric.
Thanks, Kay Ahr in NV

It does look purple in the picture, but actually it's more gray than purple in the actual fabric. I've had that fabric for a while and there's no selvage edge left on it, so I have no idea what it's called or which company made it. I have a friend who once had a cat that she called "Blue Kitty."

Thank you! It's a challenge to make the cat fabrics work in some of these blocks, but it's fun trying.

Funny, that's the way my cat was. He was grey but photographed purple. So he became Purple Kitty.
