HAPPY DANCING -- BIG TIME!!!!

and I didn't sew a stitch!

I was just gifted the following:

a Janome 10000 embroidery machine a Koala cutting table a Koala sewing table a light box a Madiera 3 drawer box of embroidery thread about 10 various rulers

2 cutting mats and two boxes (about 18 inches x 18 inches x 18 inches) full of I don't know what all (I peeked and saw several rotary cutters, boxes of pins...)

So needless to say, I have a BIG smile on my face today! And my birthday isn't until August! These all came from a friend of my mother-in-law!

WOOHOO! I'm still in shock!

Wowsers! What a great gift! May I suggest that your first project with the new gear be a little something for the friend?

Sunny -- high-five!

Many congrats Kate! That is fantabulous! No wonder you're happy dancing. You'll have to completely re-do your sewing room. Gee, that'll be tough to take. ;-)

So does your benefactor get the first quilt from the new set up?

Very long story -- but to keep it short -- DMIL moves in with a gentleman who recently lost his wife. (We were against it -- felt that both needed to get to know one another better before doing this...) Seems like a nice enough guy -- but for a number of reasons -- just felt both needed a little time before doing something like this (moving in together).

He had started sewing while caring for his wife (who had Alzheimer's). Now joining two households... he was ready to get rid of it. I offered to help him post through eBay -- or to advertise through my quilt guild. He said okay... then one day he just said -- "You can have it all... keep what you want/need... sell the rest!"

That's the very short version!!!
