Hello (OT)

Hello group, Things are just now getting better, my new job ( part time or PMR) is getting better and I am feeling better about working.. I now work at the post office, right here in town, but only on Saturdays and when the Postmaster wishes to take off. ( I receive about 16 to 20 hours per week)

It is all I want to do, working at the post office is a lot harder then I thought it would be, there is Just so much behind the counter, stuff to do and learn... I really thought my head was going to explode in the first 3 weeks, but I am now doing Ok..

Quilting, is once again on the back burner, since it is now spring time and I have winter clear up to do outside, flowers and Veggies to plant.. garden's to tiller... oh in spring time the list can go on and on.

I had to put in 8 hours today, and I am ready to put my feet up and relax.

So glad to hear you are doing okay Christina. You are right though, working part time I feel is almost as hard as working full time. I am "supposed" to have shorter hours on Wednesdays and Fridays but by the time you get there, get organised, get your work done and get out, it is like putting in a full day. I'm resolving to take less on board this year. Hasn't worked so far but.....

I'm so glad to hear from you Christina! I've been wondering about you!

That is great news about your new job! It can indeed get exhausting when you're not used to it, and when you have a thousand other things to accomplish, too. Sounds like you are trying to balance everything, which is good.

Spring is certainly a busy time here as well...even though it is supposed to snow for the next couple of days!! Fortunately they don't call for much, and the spring flowers are pushing out anyway!

Great to see you popping in Christina. I was thinking about your job just the other day, and wondered how it was going. It was bound to take some settling in, after years at home bringing up the children. But, you're starting slowly and you'll be taking it in your stride in no time, now.

But ... 8 hours in the garden. Help! I can only manage 2. I know I'm older (just a bit >gHello group,

So lovely to see you! Well done with the job. You'll get back to your needle again, but meanwhile the garden makes a pretty good substitute patchwork. Right now I have a carpet of blue-violet aubretia spotted with clumps of grape hyacinths in dark purple and some bright yellow anemones, and some mini white and yellow narcissus. All of that underneath a cloud of pink cherry flowers. And all this in spite of a chronic black thumb! I am just amazed when anything grows, and when it somehow looks this wonderful with no effort on my part, it's like Nature gave me a Hug. Roberta in D

HI Susan, Its been busy here, we had to cut down a few big trees here from the ice storm we had this winter, I have been dealing with the brush for 2-3 weeks now.. last week the city told us that they borrower a shredder from the county, so we had to undo the piles, and drag what could be shredded to the ditch.. ( the county prisoners cannot go on personal property)

Now I have 9 piles of stumps to burn, when the winds lay, or if its not raining.. most of the gardening's is now finished.. but we need warmer temps here.. My veggies garden is out.. when we had temps in the 80s for a few weeks.. I have taters, onions, squash, cucumbers, bell peppers and tomatoes I lost a tomatoes plant.. not from the cold.. I think from a cut worm..

I got all my hanging baskets potted up this evening in temps that was in the

50s!

I have to work in the Am for a few hours...

with the cold weather we have been having I am wondering what happened to spring?

I am so happy to see everyone still quitting... I hope I can get back to it in the next few weeks as things settle down here.

I am still getting use to working, and finding time to get everything done + have time for myself

My hat off to everyone who can do both.

sounds like your still in early spring time where your at, I love the early spring flowers.. Yes nothing better then being able to paste the ground with patchwork.. I will get back to the sewing machine in due time. I love the wild clumps of grape hyacinths, I am sure your talking about the bigger ones, cherry blooms are so pretty to see.. has to be breath taking!

My grape hyacinths are pretty tiny, I think they must be wild. I'd love to find some fabric that color, have to look at Moda Marbles. We have quite a few wild plants. Our very tidy German neighbors think we're a bit weird. Roberta in D
