Ruth from Happy Camp would love to come back to the group but is worried that her new "safe" email address will be taken over by the baddies in this world. Anyone got any bright (and SIMPLE) ideas that I could pass on to her?

I would suggest signing up for an email account from someplace like Hotmail or Yahoo. If she has a problem it's much easier to just cancel those accounts rather than trying to deal with getting a new account from her ISP.
And Yahoo has an excellent spam filter, too. I'd sure enjoy seeing posts from Ruth again!

I agree with Jeri!! I have a "junk" email address thru Mail.com. I've had it for years. It is what I use for all unknown websites, lists, etc. I only check that junk mail box about every 3-4 weeks and get rid of all the garbage. If I post to RCTQ, I check more frequently in case someone is trying to reach me. Once I am sure that the site or group is safe, then I change my settings to my "real" email address. Yeah, I get a lot of junk at the other address, but it keeps my real mailbox from getting spammed.
