Ho Ho Ho

Just came in the mail yesterday - a gorgeous, gorgeous (excuse me while I have a minor fit here) collection of Christmas holiday fabric. When I opened it, the top one looked like velvet. I wondered how I could have been so careless as to order a velvet. It is not. But it is so beautiful it sure does fool the eyes. Called "Christmas Red", is a Patrick Lose Moda Marble.Oh my. If you need a knock your socks off red for your stash, this is the one. Not affiliated - but as a retired gov't official, I probably could be bought. Polly

I have seen this fabric online, and I have drooled vicariously over it. Don't tempt me into actually buying any! I too could be bought, particularly if the offer was my weight in fabric.

You're good, Butterfly. Not as good as some on here, mind you, but getting there. I've noticed that neither DH nor DD could walk by the Christmas Red without running their hand across it. Not exactly a major survey but as good as I can get what with the 'gators and all. Polly

Well! Does that mean I am supposed to _do_ something with my Christmas Red? I was enjoying just looking at it. Our Christmas tree would enjoy a skirt. Her underpinnings aren't anything special but I don't want anything awfully time-consuming. Any suggestions? Polly

Way, way back in the dark ages we used to swirl a white sheet around the base of the Christmas tree and then artfully arrange it in a circle. It was supposed to represent snow ......as if we didn't have enough of it in Northern NY. It was the precursor to tree skirts. Maybe this year I'll take some my reds and swirl them instead. Especially some of the glitzy ones with the metallics. Yeah....this could work.

My sister made a Christmas tree skirt with diamond shaped log cabin blocks. It is stunning and easy.

Even easier, buy the 9-degree wedge ruler. You need 40 wedges for a circle.
