How many quilts do you have around the house

More than I thought! two in the living room, one in need of repair, very badly pansy wall hanging over the bed which matched the purple monster Trip Around the World that (a) is way to heavy for my husband and (b) would be ruined by the dog who loves to jump on the bed every night (a store bought grandmother's fan is on my bed now, bought before I ever thought I could make one!) a heart wall hanging in the living room the lighthouse / beach scene in the foyer with a runner on a bookcase under that a patriotic flag-like hanging three table toppers the spring tulip or the Easter bunny will soon be hanging in my kitchen my daughter's blue and yellow Hunter Star (she didn't take it with her when she moved) should be on her guest room bed but the cat has taken over that room so I didn't put it back on her bed -

my "Judy" quilt from RCTQ on the landing of the stairs, very viewable from the entry hall and living room.

For a good reason too. I don't want to even think about the number of tops around here that need to be quilted!

Sounds like quilt heaven! Exact number not necessary, but it's clearly way more than I have on display

Table runner on the coffee table. I wonder if I could sneak one on ours without David noticing?

I didn't realize that. I really missed my chance in the bathroom, didn't I?

Teacher didn't think so. I only got a B+. I thought it was rather good seeing as how I had gotten the Cortisone shots the day before. they make me a bit loopy but it doesn't help in being able to walk easier.

Going by the answers you have recieved..... not enough.

DD and DS have a single bed 'topper', DD has a queen size I made for her

18th, a large single over the couch in the family room and 2 doubles for our swag when camping. I have 3 wall hangings that applique/embroidery.

Family room: one old scrappy quilt for sofa use one very cool Virginia Reel WH (made by another quilter)

Sitting room: several piled in a display case and one WH

Kitchen: one runner on island one Valentine WH that will change out to St. Pat's WH tomorrow (later made by someone else)

WC: BRIGHT stamp basket WH

Bedroom: several on the NEW quilt ladder display rack one on bed

Big bathroom: one medium WH that I won at guild

Guest room: one WH and one folded on end of bed

Sewing room: two mini WH that I won at guild

I really need to make a few large quilts for my own house! Everyone I currently have for sleep use is old. I have a few newer WH but those tend to be thematic or seasonal.

Let's see, all three beds and the daybed have a quilt on them, and there are three wall-hangings, three quilts that are laid out for snuggling, and one that's in heap around sewing machine that I'm machine quilting, although I don't know if that counts as being on display. So 9 or 10 depending on how you count.

One hug quilt in my living room, two quilts in my DS's room-one is a baby quilt I made him, the other a hug quilt made by this group. One quilt in my Armoir that my granny made-grandmother's garden (mostly white....which doesn't do well at my house, so I take it and spread it out now and again to admire it and touch it, then fold it back up and put it back in there.) One that I still need sew the binding on for my ds.... Wow.....I need to get sewing....I feel quilt deprived compared to some of you! lol

I have four places to display quilts within my home and rotate the display on a regular basis. The living room is very large so a queen size quilt on the wall does not dominate the space. The quilt is hung from a very nice cherry plate rail type hanger which is formal enough to fit in with the furniture.

Most of the kitchen wall space is either window or cabinet but there is one 24" space in the eating area where one miniature wallhanging is always displayed. Right now it is a wool applique but in the spring will be a double wedding ring and then appliqued butterflies until time for something patriotic. August can be most anything and then fall brings the browns and golds of the fall trees. You see my thinking.

The mantle over the fireplace In the family room is rather high leaving 36" by 84" for display. Here I group several small quilts that are based on the same theme. Right now they are snowflake type designs. There is a feathered star, a kaleidoscope, a snowman applique and final one that isn't "snow" related but was the right size and color to fill the space. I only change this space 4 or 5 times a year because it is more trouble to coordinate the pieces.

Of course my bed and the two guest beds have quilts. There is an antique quilt over the family room sofa which I only change at Christmas and several very well used throws folded on the sofa.

Now if you want to talk quantity you need to ask about the unfinished quilts in my studio. That is another long topic.
