(This pattern, also called Pine Bark, appeared years ago in a Quilters' Newsletter Magazine. I tried it and gave up. I can only think of two patterns that have completely flummoxed me, and this was one. Once it came out with a template and a new construction method, I knew I had to do it!)

That looks wonderful Joan. I really like that pattern. I did the one out of QNM some years ago. I remember it was a bear to put together. I still have an old cutting board with the markings on that I used as a guide. I was working with strips rather that full yardage so that sort of made it even a bit more wacky. I think that might have been one of the quilts I felt most accomplished making. I love the colors of yours. I hope the friend has many bright tomorrows. I bet that beautiful quilt will be a cherished gift and reminder. Taria

That's the pattern that I could NOT get to work! This is a whole lot easier. How do the resulting quilts compare pattern-wise/ joan
I saw the quilt in QNM and liked it a lot but didn't realize it was so hard to put together. Where did you find a better pattern? Your quilt turned out beautifully!
