I see you Downunder in OZ. (waving)

I popped back to rctq to see what every one was up to for the New Year and have found that posts have been very VERY erratic and disjointed. I am obviously missing a lot of posts, and some are taking a VERY long time to show up. I guess it is my ISP.

You are here in the Swamp where the temperature is 20°, the gators are all huddled together under a heavy layer of mud and a gaggle of Canadian geese wintering over. If you need a Happy Dance, call me in a few hours. Polly

Fieder, once upon a time, I worked where the computer support group was underpaid and overworked. All we ever got from them was "shut up and reboot". So. That's what I did when reading the group was so terribly hit or miss. Actually, I did two things. First, I unsubscribed from the group, then I turned everything off and started over. It was a time-consuming pain in the neck but it did shake loose whatever had decided to go goofy. You might try it if things get really bad. Polly

Hi Polly

I am assuming that you mean 20Farenheit.

Here in OZ it is just after midnight and the temp is just

8 - unfortunately that is centigrade (about 83 arenheit - too hot to sleep!). We are going through one of our hottest summers on record, and expect another 40C+ tomorrow (about 105-108F)

So if you are feeling chilly, or the 'gators are getting chills or pneumonia over there I would be only too happy to send you some of our heat.

Seem to have dropped a 2 there somewhere - the temp is actually 28C!

Here in sunny FL it is 38 deg with a wind. It should get a bit warmer today, but we are in our cold winter spell of a week. Brrrr I do have a few warm clothes to rely on.

Miss Polly , i have been thinking about that but in about 2 weeks time i ought to be able to use my own laptop again on which i use Xnews to read my NG's as opposed to Outlook Express on this PC i am currently using.. so maybe i just ought to be patient and see if Xnews treats me better.. but thank you anyway.. btw it is freezing here too..in fact it is freezing so hard there is not a gator in sight!! ;-)

LOL! I think I abuse the privilege of postin' typos more than anyone else here!! :)

But you know what someone once told me? That english, because it doesn't really follow as strict of rules when it comes to conjugating verbs, sentence structure, etc, is one of the hardest languages to learn!! Not to mention that we have a gazillion words for every one thing!

I used to be fairly fluent in German and Spanish and had a decent grasp of French ... and they were fairly easy to learn because they have such set rules. The verb always goes HERE, and the adjective always goes THERE, etc. But ... then I had kids and my brain cells just dried up and died!! But it was fun while it lasted!!

Today, someone capable of speakin' more than one language just really tickles me!! I have enough trouble with the one I use everyday!!!

Hugs!!
