I am really still alive and stitching away!

I know it has been way to long since I last posted but I think of all of you everyday. My recovery continues to be slow from the stroke and I saw a new neurologist today. I have been stitching as part of my physical therapy. It is going very slowly and my stitches are very uneven right now. However I am quilting and NOT going to give in no matter what!!! I am slowly regaining the use of my hand and there is still a great deal ow weakness... I'm a die hard so I know I will continue to progress. I start my in home IV therapy this week and the nurse will come out once a month to set up the IV therapy. I will be getting clotting factors as well as gamma gobulin every month from here on out. The doctor still thinks (at this time) that is is most unlikely that I will be able to drive but I guess with gas prices the way they are that is ok... it give me more $$ for fabrics! I will again be a grandmother in November and looking forward to that event. Fortunately I had a baby quilt all made up that I was able to give to my daughter for the new baby. (it's a boy btw). My hand writing still looks terrible but at least I am able to handle a pen or pencil so that it great! And the more I stitch the better it gets. I am still very glad that there is a spell checker because my typing continues to be the pitts. I don't know when I will get back to the ng. Hopefully a lot in the days to come... I just didn't want everyone here to think I have totally fallen off the face of the earth. I will be checking in even if I don't post that much for the time being. love you all julia

So good to hear from you! We always knew that quilting was a cure for whatever ails you -maybe physical therapists should introduce all their patients to a needle and thread! Roberta in D

So glad to see you! I was wondering about you. When I first joined this group, yours was the first "squishy" I received. I hope your progress continues and you grow stronger every day. The part about not driving, may be a financial blessing in disguise.

Hugs, Linda

You know what they say - that the slower the recuperation, the more permanent the healing will be... Hang in there and keep reading for inspiration - this group has the power!
