hey Jess, dh is doing most of the work. its all i can do to keep the day to day stuff done here and the occasional thing he brings home from the house for me to do here....washing all the curtains, waterblasting some wooden bits that had to be removed for other purposes so might as well clean'em up to be painted and replaced. he's even brought home in his van garden cuttings that need stripping so the leaves can go into the weekly rubbish bin, yes we did a full 9 cubic metres worth already but there is still smaller prunings need doing. so he gets some of that done for the weekly bin pick-up. cant tell how much longer he'll be doing stuff there. he still has to find someone to replace all the guttering, easy job, no turns, just two sections on each side of the house. also has to organize a couple of big trees removed. oh and new carpeting thruout the house. it is taking a long time to do all this(so far 2 months) with him working 6 days a week, hes only down there each evening and on sunday but the price of houses keep increasing so we're not really out of pocket if we can make basic improvements for an easier sale. neighbour down the back has some friend who is interested in the house, neighbour is a real estate agent but if she buys, no commmision, will be done as a private sale, much easier i hope. i cant believe the approx value that neighbour put on the house, seems about right tho considering what i've seen in the papers lately in this area. if we get that value, will easily pay off the mortgage on it and put a goodly amount in our pocket. that will be used to upgrade this house. there is so much needs doing here now. we need all the inside windowsills painted, some walls too (strip the paper off first), new carpets thruout, new drapes in lounge, 6 metre long full window there, kitchen and bathroom both need to be upgraded, some rebuilding there too. the pool still needs resurfacing...drain, sandblast, repair, paint, refill, no easy job and rather time consuming. picking the right time of yr for it is the tricky bit. cant be in winter, spring can be sooooo wet (need some dry time for repairs to set, then paint it), also the water table in the ground affects it. argh, i'm tired again just thinking about all that. its a big single cost job too. oh, then the downstairs must be tackled....what to do there i've no idea. been pondering that for yrs now and not found any good solutions to the issues there. have got rid of some stuff downstairs during council inorganic pickups and ds took nana's fridge to use in the house he and 6 others have moved into together. they all work cept him. all but one of them have flatted before this so should be ok there. i need some breakfast now so will check back here later. nice to see you back here albeit for short spurts. sew sew sew your little fingers to the bone so ya got more time for us. :)
