You have my complete envy ... I _love_ Peter Schickele, and am delighted to hear he's still out and about.

I hung on to my LPs of PDQ Bach long after I no longer had a turntable ... I wonder where they've gotten to?

I saw him "in concert" about 20 years ago. What fun! Thanks for bringing back that memory.

I think we've seen him three times over a span of almost 30 years. I don't think I'd ever get tired of his schtick. I just dug out our library of his works....we have 5 CD's and 2 record albums. I have to contain myself when I survey his website...there are several more CD's out that I don't have. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who knows him. When I remember, I try to listen to his radio show on Sunday evenings on our Public Radio station. But unless I'm in the car, listening to the radio just doesn't work well. Too many distractions.

Mom was a great fan of PDQ Bach. I didnt, and dont know enough about classical music to appreciate the in jokes of music. ... hmm.. except Victor Borge...and Professor Paradiddle. Maybe someone here knows of the Swingle Singers? Diana

For me, hand quilting and listening to the radio are a good combination. If there is a program that I really want to hear -- not just have on as background -- I pick up my hand quilting.

Professor Paradiddle did drum humor. The word paradiddle refers to a pattern of drumbeats characterized by four basic beats and alternating left-handed and right-handed strokes on the successive primary beats. Thanks to dictionary.com for that definition. He used the drum behind his monologue to illustrate the story, and had I been a bit older it may have seemed funnier.. but one line we kids all liked was: he was cold to me, but hot tamale. Diana
