Jelly rolls/charm squares and Aurifil thread questions

Howdy!

I just got a salad spinner a couple of months ago and really like it; the greens taste fresher when just-washed-but-not-soggy. Never have had such non-gritty spinach!

IF I were to use it as a spin-dry tool...I'd get another spinner just for that. Esp. if I were doing any personal laundry with it. ;-D There's an episode of "Frasier" in which Daphne's mum mentions that she's left "me smalls" soaking in the (tiny) kitchen sink at Nile's home. Ewwwwww! End of episode shows us Niles wearing long rubber gloves, holding a long set of tongs, removing m-i-l's bra from the sink--ewwww!

For $20-$30 for a spinner, for small bits of fabric I reckon I'll just continue to squeeze out the excess water by hand. That'$ 10-15 pkgs of finger cots!

So you are still seeing Pink elephants dancing with Purple hippos? BTDT...not the surgery, the dancing animals. Sounds like it went well.

Butterfly (please don't play with the salad spinner today.......and your fella(s) are doing the cooking, right? (take out is fine) )

Ouch! Will you be joining me in the Knee Physical Terrorism club?

I've learned that my terrorist likes cookies. I wonder if she'll go easier on me if I bring some home made ones next visit. *big grin*

Still working on those pictures. DH is *almost* walking normally again, after his second degree sunburn 10 days ago. (Can we say "he's an idiot?")

YIKES, Sandy! I bought an all plastic salad spinner at WalMart for $5. It does a fine job with my salad greens. I haven't tried it with small fabric pieces or my undies.... and do NOT intend to, either. VBG Is yours electric and made of stainless steel or sumpin???

Hey Pati, I lived in the Phoenix area (Tempe) for 20 years. Yeah, it was a dry, dry heat. Just like the oven. Those temps are just ducky when you have little kids. Misery. We live in the Inland Northwest now and love it. A flowing river, water, green things, four seasons and no air pollution unless the forest burns. I have never missed the "Valley of the Sun" for one second.

Howdy!

Shhhh- if we say the price is $20, and that could be used for fabric... $20 it is!

Got mine at Target (never shop at wallyworld), remember the price, it was somewhere in the "vicinity" of $20... well, closer to 20 than 100. LOL

What pattern are you using? Did you find it online or is it your own? Could you please share?

Thank you

Piggybacking here. Sandy, I hope you're feeling better today -- I know that has to be awfully painful.

I'm making four patches with the jelly roll and half square triangles with the charm squares. The jelly roll four patches will finish at 4 inches and the charm square half square triangles will finish at 4 and an eighth. I'll just square up the charm squares. After I have those made I'm going to play with block arrangements on the design wall and see what I come up with.

Today I got one (salad spinner) for $1.00, just for laundering those wee bits of fabric that I sometimes buy or other wise acquire. (Squishy anyone?) How? I went to the local Thrift Shop that provides assistance for people in need, to donate a large stack of clothing.

Of course I had a quick recon in the fabric area, and for just $2.00 I picked up 4.25 yards of 52" wide white muslin of very nice quality! On the way to pay, I spotted nice salad spinners, so grabbed one of those too. Both have already been carefully washed with a jot of Lysol. The fabric is in the dryer now. Support your local Thrift Store! ;)
