Join the Huggers

When Hurricane Gustav was coming at us, I took my very own precious, beloved Hug and carefully put it out of harm's way. I pulled it around me and snuggled its messages around me first. (Once upon a hurricane, someone took one of my quilts and nailed it over a blown-out window and I didn't want my rctq hug to perform that duty.) Are you a Hugger? Would you like to join us? You don't need to be skilled or a participant in our rctq for decades - just somebody that would like to comfort someone we think needs to be wrapped in our warm best wishes, prayers and love. "What is a Hug?" is documented better somewhere. ( Help me direct to where.) I just wanted to urge and validate their weight. Weight? a strange word but indeed their power is weighty. Join us if you would like to hug. We welcome all. Polly

Hey Polly

Our hugs must have been talking to us. I to snuggled down into its comforting folds and read again the words of comfort written upon it. Suddenly all the fears of the storm seemed to melt away and I felt everything would be alright.

They are very powerful. On my mom's birthday following the one year anniversary of her death, I snuggled me and Joey (her dog) in ours and watched her favorite TV shows.

In the evening I went out to dinner with my hubby at her favorite type of restaurant - Chinese Buffet. On the way in we saw an amazing sight

- a double rainbow. I have never seen anything like that before!

One more thing about joining us in hugging - you do not have to be in the Directory and your name and address will NEVER be published. You do not have to send Pat in Virginia chocolate. ( Of course, you

*can* if you'd like to.) All you need to do is send an email to our Kate G who's the keeper of the hug plans. Careful there. We have a Kate G, Kate T and Kate D. Maybe others but that's all that comes to mind just now. Polly

And, you can participate when you want, on the level you want. I know from working on them, delivering two, and receiving one, that a HUG just gives you "warm fuzzies" even making a block to send off to be included with other blocks.

I agree, Polly ... especially about the part in parentheses!

Hug participation is sporadic for me. Even when I can't participate, I do keep the cause in my thoughts and say a prayer for the hug recipients. PAT in VA/USA
