In this fairly new format of Quilter's Newsletter Magazine, Helen's column is the only one I make sure to read. The rest of them just don't interest me like hers. Maybe it was because she seemed like an old friend and mentor. She will be missed.

Helen Kelly was guest speaker at a Project Linus conference a few years ago. We all felt like we were old friends by the time the evening was over. Such a talented, gracious lady. She will be missed.

Now I am glad I cancelled my subscription to QNM. Like you, Kathyl, Helen was the main reason I took the magazine.

When I acquired a lengthy back run of QNM I marked the issue with Helen's first column. I read 'em all, and with each issue I welcomed her new take on life and everything. She will be missed.

Her column was called 'Loose Threads.' I guess she's now tied off all the ends.

It doesn't seem possible that she's no longer with us, does it? I'll miss her column and her insight.

I googled to find out more, I read in Jan Krentz's blog that just in August she had been inducted to the quilters hall of fame, a big honour as she is only the 38th member in nearly 30 years, how fitting that she was recognised in such a timely fashion.

She was the opposite end of the age spectrum to me as a quilter, but I still enjoyed her columns and will miss reading them, I hope that if she was a few issues ahead, they continue to publish them, or honour her with reprints of her best older columns.

So sorry to hear this! I never got to meet Helen personally, but loved her columns. She will be missed.

I think I will curl up with coffee and an old column just to celebrate a sweet lady.
