weight loss incentive

I need to lose 25 lbs. DH just offered me $10 of fabric per lb. of weight lost. I've been on the no-buy program. Does this count as an exception? ;)

The first thing you need to do is throw away the white bread and buy a bunch of carrots. The second thing you need to do is start making room for all that new fabric. Woot! Fabric for weight. That's a great deal. Have fun, collect all your lost weight and shop for all that fabric at one t ime.

I told my husband about your DH's offer. He told me I may be a little heavier than I should be, but he's not ready to make me that kind of offer :( Hmm... Maybe I need to coordinate a food diet and a fabric diet -- no new fabric unless I lose weight. Reward myself with new fabric when I lose X number of pounds.

Tell your DH that you are a very busy mommy and you need a really good incentive to lose weight..... $50 per pound sounds better to me! And this *is* a fully-justified exception, so go for it! Best of luck and may your tummy feel full after eating a single leaf of lettuce!

Whoo-hoo!! I might even be convinced to try losing weight with that kind of an offer.

Anita - can you email me? I have a question for you.

Husband offered you the $10 of fabric per pound??? YOU are not spending $10 on fabric per pound loss, hubby is, so don't need any exceptions to you rule. Enjoy all of your new fabric YOU are not buying but HUBBY is!

You're so right! *He* is buying the fabric, not me! I got so inspired that I took Rocky for a 1.5-mile walk in the jogging stroller that has been used once in the past 4 years.

I win on all fronts on this. ;) The doctor says I need to lose weight (partially caused by the thyroid, but whatever, it's good for my health) and I get fabric in the process!

Well, IMO the no-buy program is a non-starter to begin with. (Although I realize every person's stash is a personal choice.) But I'd go for this in a minute! Unless of course you don't WANT to lose weight. Roberta in D
