Laptop - OTOTOT - Update

Until recently, the problem has been "bandwidth". Which is another way of saying that there's too much information to go over a slow wireless connection. The new 802.11x standards coming out in the next couple of years may change that.

And there is a TV that will pick up signals without being tied to an umbilical cord.

will let you wirelessly send movies and TV shows from your computer to your TV.

Some cable and satellite systems with DVRs will let you download programs from your DVR to your computer for remote viewing.

I have an HP Pavillion TX1000 and I have hooked up to networks in a couple of motels, it's easy. BUT, last week it quit working and is now traveling (alone) to the repair shop. I am using my old Toshiba with a wireless card (PCMA or something like that) I just know how to put it in the slot!

The HP is smaller and lighter than most, has a touch screen, DVD-RW, the wireless built in and is cute. It's also still under warrantee!
