So far it's just warm and muggy and windy. I heard it's raining hard in Pottersville- about 10 miles west of town and I'm 3 miles north of town. I'm soooo tired and I want to go to bed but with the storm and waiting to hear from my dad- mom had her mastectomy this morning. I'm starting to worry- it's been a long time. And they don't have a cell phone. Darnnit! Thanks for asking. Hope you stay safe, too!

Waiting is worse than anything. Joe had colon cancer surgery a few years ago and I guess they forgot I was waiting. I was the last one in the waiting room and someone poked their head in and asked who I was waiting on. I sat there for 6 hours. Scared. To. Death. Too scared to ask after awhile, because after that long I knew it couldn't be good and I didn't want to hear the news.

The surgery only took about an hour and a half. He was back in his room by the time I found out. He was fine, but it was sure scary.

Hope everything is ok. Your dad would have called you if it wasn't.

We usually have a respite in the winter, but I remember a December tornado about 20 years ago not too far from me. They tend to not be huge in the winter time, but still. If it hits you, you feel it, ya know?

I drove out that way last weekend to go get chicken at a restaurant and you can still see tin wrapped in trees. After 20 years.

Gaaa! We had an ice storm in the south end of our county about a month ago and I didn't get around to driving down there till the other day. It looks like a tornado went through as much tree damage as they had. It's such a raw look with those trees sheared off like that.

Oh, Leslie...i hope mom pulls thru ok. we see so many of those surgeries here (i work for a surgeon and his sub-specialty is Br.Ca. )

it's 70 degrees F here, we are really gonna pay for this break in the cold. one way or another!

Amy,that is about the temp here right now, 21C(70F).tis overcast and has been raining overnight, nothing too hard.just enough to nicely water the gardens and lawns(boy did they need it).should rain somemore today(still need to get the pool water level up, lol),cant have enough rain if its gonna go all dry on us for a week at a time.we're in drought here if we go two weeks without rain, thats in summer, lol.j."amy" wrote...
