roflmao, fair enough. i guess really doesnt pay to be published sometimes, lol. there are a few tricks to help make those points match, depends on the block and the method used. on tricky blocks you can always paper piece. sewing on the line they always match, well in theory. :)) cheers, jeanne

You can do it Sunny! For heaven's sake look at Seinfeld - had to have been the cr*ppiest show on TV, about totally nothing and look at the success it had!! Look at The Young and The Boring - if they can do it - anyone can! Yes I know that's TV but I'm making a point here!!

Go to the class, gather material (fabric and writing) and go for it! Oh and for being your cheerleader I'll accept a signed first edition of your first book! LOL.

Yay, I'm going t o write my book about this class, LOL. If anybody else has funny/weird/horrid experiences with BNQ or classes do send them to me. Of course, I may end up being a published writer and goodness knows I'll have to copyright your stories! ROFL. (Sharon, the first book is indeed yours! The title will be "So, do any of you NOT know who I am? and I will autograph your copy crediting you with being my very first cheerleader.)

The LQS owner was right there. She's very impressed with the BNQ, and such is the case with many folks around. The quilt will incorporate 26 different fabrics. They said outright it's impossible just about for anybody to make it without buying the fabric they offer for the quilt. And yes, about half the group I'm in is first time quilters. Poor babies. I could see their faces when she said we would be making `15/16th cuts, and that they should be able to eyeball that easily -- or, hey, the shop is selling the only ruler around that has 16th marks on it. Well, at the very least I will keep you guys amused over the coming months. And I promise to post pics of the WIP.... no matter how much I muck up the squares. I think I'm going to start working on some applique designs to cover up the really bad spots.

If anyone started a class out here with an intro like that some wit from the back of the room would probably ask "No, but then you probably don't know who I am either" and everyone would crack up with laughter.

I sure hope she is a better teacher than she sounds, for you sake. Sadly being good at something yourself does not automatically make you a good teacher.

Read all the posts to this but what Polly said hit me and I laughed that is what I call a ME person, no one is important but me. I had an instructor in college this way, personally I couldn't stand the man. All he talked about was himself or his dad, to hear him tell it his dad was the greatest man on earth, but then so is my dad, LOL, but his dad was a honey dipper that is what he did for a living and if you don't know what that is I will tell you it is a person that goes around and cleans the **** out of outside toilets. He did work for one of the big mining companies back then but as a "honey dipper." Not inside the mines like his son portrayed.
